Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, your role will be a central figure in building the financial foundation of MakersPlace. You’ll not only own all aspects of the revenue close process but help design, project manage, and lead the future financial operations of the organization. Key Responsibilites

  • Lead all aspects of the revenue close process including collections, payouts, reconciliations, etc.
  • Collaborate with the sales and business development team to ensure timely payments to partners and collaborators.
  • Work with trust & safety and legal teams to monitor suspicious activity and ensure compliance of revenue operations.
  • Manage outside vendors and service providers to ensure integrity of day to day financial operations.
  • Define, document, and communicate policies and procedures.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and insights to communicate actionable analytics.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gain business insights and build accounting processes to support all existing and new business expansion initiatives.
  • Drive business process improvements and automation, bringing best practices to accounting operations in accordance with GAAP standards.
  • Support external audit requirements as necessary.

Role Requirements

  • BA/BS and 4+ years of experience in either finance or accounting (preferably both). CPA a plus.
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and credit card operations.
  • Strong Excel skills, comfortable with extremely large data set volume.
  • Experience with financial reporting tools such as Quickbooks or Netsuite.
  • Ability to read and write SQL queries is a big plus.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with engineering to build audit ready revenue systems.
  • Highly organized with the ability to project manage.
  • Success in a fast paced and constantly changing environment is a plus.
  • Detailed-oriented and excellent problem-solving skills.
