PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and build customer-facing apps for the iOS platform
- Collaborate with product team to define, design, and ship new features
- Lead the design of Owlet’s architecture based on product strategy and requirements
- Work closely with other Engineering disciplines to design full stack systems
- Understand, advocate and support Owlet’s technology strategy
- Turn business needs and priorities into a technology roadmap
- Analyze the current product environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement
- Analyze technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the product architecture
- Drive architecture and coding best practices
- Help identify organizational requirements for the resources, structures and cultural changes necessary to support the architecture
- Create and maintain documentation of all architecture design and analysis work
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience (8+ years) in iOS app development, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful iOS applications
- Expertise in Swift and Objective-C programming languages, along with a deep understanding of iOS SDKs, frameworks, and Apple's design principles
- Some familiarity with encryption and security protocols
- Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and memory management
- Strong familiarity with mobile development concepts
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Experience debugging and performance tuning of mobile applications
- Experience working with REST and JSON
- Ability to rapidly iterate from prototype to shipping product
- Comfortable with Test-Driven Development, Continuous Build and Integration methodologies
- Prior experience working in an agile development environment

- Familiarity with iOS Bluetooth Low Energy communication APIs
