As part of a hardworking team of technicians and engineers, you will build human-rated orbital launch vehicles.

In this role, you will directly lead and supervise technicians and coordinate additional teammates such as manufacturing engineers, quality personnel, production controllers, schedulers, etc. You will have ultimate and full responsibility for guiding your crew with the assembly and test of the GS2 Upper Stage Vehicle.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise personnel working GS2 Sub assemblies in day-to-day operations with emphasis on Safety
  • Guide teammates and ensure that each person has everything vital to safely succeed
  • Champion continued learning and growth to attract, develop, and retain phenomenal people
  • Conduct regular check-ins to ensure team member performance, fulfillment, and growth
  • Author job descriptions, screen candidates, and conduct interviews. Make hiring recommendations
  • Develop and implement process, efficiency, and continuous safety improvements
  • Responsible for prioritizing and establishment of Work Center assignments, employee training, overtime assignments and back-up for absent employees
  • Maintain all shop programs including Safety, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Clean as you go programs

Qualifications:

  • Passion. This role requires a ton of energy and resilience.
  • Experience as a “front line” leader, working directly with individual contributors in various roles
  • Clear understanding of production versus development environments
  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and background
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with constantly evolving roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately - in writing, in person, and via video calls, digital literacy
  • Work wherever, whenever, however best to help your team succeed. This will include extended hours and weekends and all shifts when vital. Occasional remote work and/or flexible schedule is available when possible.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Management, Business, etc.) or equivalent directly related years of professional experience
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and coordination skills
  • Continuous improvement mentality. Our job is never complete; we are always refining and improving
  • Curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it
  • Lean certification
  • Experience in new product introduction
  • Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Aerospace/Launch vehicles

  • Experience in integrating systems, pneumatics, fluids, electrical etc.
