Description

Own the design side of a cross-functional pod, collaborating directly with Engineering and Product team members. Create presentations to uphold design quality and manage stakeholder feedback. Iterate on design with Product Manager and Engineering Manager partners in order to match scope to a shippable feature. Review junior designer wireframes and mockups and suggest improvements. Encourage fellow designers to show work and improve their work by leading critique sessions on the team. Analyze and adopt best user experience practices, via articles and best-in-class app examples. Give feedback to engineers on visual and UX implementation in order to QA to match design requirements. Experiment with new tools and techniques that can improve the design process. Use visual design skills to produce industry leading design work. Mentor junior designers through compassionate and supportive feedback.

Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to communicate works-in-progress via project management tools such as JIRA and Monday.com. Support several designers with their workloads by helping move their wireframes and mockups into high fidelity prototypes. Test concepts with users, and work with other designers to refine based on findings. Try to match in-app fidelity (for a complex, gestural app) via advanced prototyping tools and techniques. Create wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes to iterate on new features and product iterations. Position allows telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. Salary: $90,000.00 - $145,000 per year.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Graphic/Communication Design, Design & Marketing, Human-Computer Interaction, Integrated Innovation for Products and Services, or a related field. Must have 4 years as Product designer or any occupation/position/job title involving digital product design. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in U.S. equivalent in Graphic/Communication Design, Design & Marketing, Human-Computer Interaction, Integrated Innovation for Products and Services, or a related field, plus 2 years as Product designer or any occupation/position/job title involving digital product design.

Must also have the following: 2 years of professional experience designing for multiple business to consumer platforms (iOS, Android or mobile web), and understanding the nuances between them; 2 years of professional experience conducting exploratory user research and usability testing; 2 years of professional experience in typography, layout, and interaction design; 2 years of professional experience using design tools including Figma, Sketch, or Principle; 2 years of professional experience solving design problems (including research on key user problems in particular fields, research on competitors in the market, or creating intuitive flows for product experience and evaluating success through metrics);1 year of professional experience designing digital products for business to consumer applications from conception and information architecture to the final user interface; and 1 year of professional experience prototyping with Figma.
