This is a remote position. We will consider candidates across the US.

As part of the team, your responsibilities will include:
  • Understanding our backend technologies
  • Working alongside and communicating with other talented engineers
  • Estimating stories and tasks considering complexity, uncertainty, and level of effort
  • Finding healthy balances between release speed, tech-debt, and code quality
  • Writing and maintaining code, tests, and bug fixes for production systems
  • Creating secure, performant API resources for frontend teams
  • Improving security, performance, and maintainability of the backend stack
  • Configuring and maintaining AWS infrastructure through code
  • Responding to production issues


As part of the team, you'll be able to:
  • Use contemporary technologies to solve interesting problems.  Our primary backend stack consists of Node, PostgreSQL, Redis, and AWS.
  • Build new features on top of a solid codebase
  • Bring new insight and ideas to solve both challenging and straightforward problems
  • Make not just backend contributions, but frontend as well 


We could be a Match if you have:
  • BS in Computer Science or related field
  • Professional experience deploying production code for at least 5 years
  • Experience with Javascript or Typescript in a Node.js environment
  • Experience with SQL (preferably PostgreSQL) 
  • Experience with Terraform and AWS
  • Experience and alignment with Agile methodologies
  • Experience as a generalist working across multiple areas (including API code, UI code, and database optimization)

$146,500 - $176,500 a year
Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary range is reflective of a position based in Los Angeles, CA. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
