Description
We are a US-based gaming company looking for a dynamic Senior Unreal Developer to help lead the development team of an internal gaming studio project. Working with junior game developers, game designers, and artists from around the world, the Senior Unreal Developer will help turn designs into awesome new features.
Responsibilities
• Design, architect and implement game features with the design team.
• Actively participate in the game creation process.
• Collaborate with the testing team to ensure game development features are ready for production.
• Manage and enhance new and existing game features during the game development process.
• Write and execute high quality and well-structured code using the C++ programming language.
• Play an active role in educating, mentoring, developing and training junior game developers, colleagues and interns.
• Ensure the website is kept updated with current information.
• Break the features of the game into smaller tasks (Splitting) and assign the tasks to team members.
• Establish and meet multiple deadlines throughout the game development process.
• Review the work of the junior unreal developers and assist them with resolving any mistakes they have made.
Skills/Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Game Technology preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development is required
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Unreal Engine platform is required
• Excellent C++ knowledge
• Experience with Unreal networking (multiplayer) model (RPCs, Replication, etc..)
• Experience with Unreal AI (Behavior Trees, EQS, Navigation, Perception, SlateTree) and API (Application Programming Interface) as it relates to Unreal Engine game development
• Able to differentiate between sub standard and exceptional games
• Manage the game development team with a Situational/Servant Leadership Style
• Ability to communicate well and lead teams in high-pressure situations
• Able to give and take criticism in a professional manner.
• Strong and current industry knowledge.
• Passion for gaming preferred
• Knowledge of American football as well as other sports preferred
