About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned cybersecurity leader and people manager to continue maturing our cloud security program and growing our engineers. As the Engineering Manager of Cloud Security, you’ll guide the technical direction and execution of the team. You will report into the Engineering Manager of Application & Cloud Security within the Security Engineering organization. We expect this role to be 100% remote, or hybrid if you choose to work from a DoorDash office location. Occasional travel is required for major planning meetings and to maintain supportive relationships with your direct reports.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and leaders to define the roadmap and vision for the team.
  • Define cloud security requirements and collaborate with other engineering teams to implement them, using best practices on secure cloud implementations as a guidepost.
  • Build metrics to measure adoption rates and to ensure our technical solutions are successfully meeting security needs.
  • Design and deploy scalable cloud security services/tools; Provide automated infrastructure provisioning via Terraform, containers and Kubernetes security and architecture 
  • Develop strong relationships to foster productive collaboration and to increase the effectiveness and impact of our team’s work.
  • Build an outstanding team by coaching engineers, empowering your team through thoughtful delegation, and aligning work within your team according to skill level and professional goals.
  • Provide continuous feedback to position your team members for optimal performance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of team members.
  • Clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences to achieve positive outcomes from meetings, technical reviews, and onsite strategy and planning activities.

We’re excited about you because you…

  • Have 5+ years of security engineering experience in a cloud-production environment or equivalent industry experience and a minimum of 2 years of management experience.
  • Lead with a people-first approach, able to facilitate a conversation rather than dictate it, and use influencing skills to accommodate divergent viewpoints in your decision-making.
  • Bring deep experience providing technical leadership and guidance, leveraging both strategic and analytical thinking to solve problems.
  • Are adept at working in a very fast-paced, diverse environment and are comfortable wearing multiple hats to achieve strong security outcomes across multiple organizations.
  • Have experience driving security capabilities across AWS utilizing technologies such as Terraform, as well as experience with microservices and container technologies (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes).

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below.  Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.  For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location.  Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.
