Are you the type of person who disassembled the family TV when you were a child, just to see how it works? Or maybe you were so obsessed with your coin collection that you raised an expedition in search of a 1794 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. Maybe your teachers feared you because of your urge to always ask ‘why’? If this sounds like you then we need to talk.

We are on the lookout for a Senior Product Designer to join our onboarding team through discovering, defining, developing and delivering the best user experience for our international customers.

You will need to bring a keen sense of user centered design thinking as well as a thorough understanding of data and how this can impact and influence your design.

You’ll be working with our newly defined design system built with atomic design principles along with our five other designers redefining the face of modern banking.

What is expected of you:

  • A solid portfolio showing design thinking to solve business problems.
  • Working knowledge of Figma.
  • An open mind and keenness to learn from your peers.
  • The ability to think laterally and find alternative solutions to otherwise complex problems.
  • Co-create with cross functional team members outside of the design team.
  • Strong advocate for design and putting the user at the center of your solutions.
  • The ability to take criticism and also being able to critique when needed. 
  • The confidence to defend your design decisions based on research and data.
  • Confidence to be able to present your work to stakeholders and C-Level executives.
  • Comfortable to interview users and run user testing sessions as well as workshops with your cross functional team.
  • Understanding of accessibility and modern design principles.

What you need

  • 3 – 5 years experience working with cross functional teams, preferably in a product or startup environment.
  • Relevant qualification in Human Centered Design, Design Thinking etc.
  • A fast, reliable and stable internet connection and a dedicated work area free from distractions.
  • Your own laptop (PC or Mac we don’t judge).
  • Fluent business English we are a global team but we have selected English as a common language for communication across the business.
  • Extra points if you have worked in Fintech environments.
  • Extra points if you have worked or are originally from an emerging market (ie sub-saharan Africa, Latin America, or Asia).

The interview process

  • If you are successful in your application a member of the Talent Team will reach out to kickstart the interview process with an initial interview someone from our talent team will setup an introductory call. The next call will be with our Design Lead and if that call is successful you will be invited to a 40 minute whiteboard challenge. The whiteboard challenge is designed to understand your thought process as a Designer and problem-solving capabilities. It is not to test how good you are, more to see your thinking as a designer and how you solve problems in your own unique way. Finally, you will meet with our Chief Product Officer.
