About the Role
Hinge Health software engineering interns work on small interdisciplinary teams focused on different parts of the user journey. Interns contribute to their team’s success by building out Proof of concepts and extending well-tested APIs that power beautiful client applications. In addition to contributing to valuable new minor features, interns also help pay down tech debt, spike on novel solutions, and share responsibility for healthy live site operation. Interns also help further end to end automation of our services.
Our Tech Stack
Nodejs, TypeScript, Nestjs, GraphQL, Docker, React, React Native, Rails, Aptible, AWS, Postgres, Redis, Apollo, and Redux. Our workflow is trunk-based CI/CD.
- Every day, you’ll tackle small-grained problems in an Agile red/green/refactor workflow.
- Every sprint, you’ll build, test and deploy complete, meaningful minor features.
- Every day, you’ll review 2x more PRs than you open.
- Every month, you’ll resolve a couple of performance and scaling bottlenecks, balancing feature development with long-term tech investments to keep the platform healthy and nimble.
- Students from Software engineering streams (CS, AI, Electronics) starting their final year of Bachelors or Masters in Engineering/Technology
- Delivery: Consistent, on-time, high-quality delivery of fine-grained work
- Domain Expertise: Familiarity with web frameworks like Rails, Typescript, Node, or serverless solutions in AWS is a PLUS
- Problem Solving: Track record of resourceful, iterative solutions and deftly reversible decisions.
