The Finance & Accounting Analyst Role

This role is a critical asset to our Finance team, tasked with operationalizing and executing our thoughtful financial strategy. We are searching for a self-starter and detail-oriented leader to support robust and accurate processes for our core finance activities. You will manage AP/AR, expenses, financial reporting, and tax preparation, among other key reporting tasks that drive accountability across teams.

You will also lead and ensure adherence to the organization-wide financial budget, tracking spending, reporting, and managing our team’s spending policies on a monthly basis. In this role, you will operate in an autonomous yet cross-functional environment, leveraging your sharp analytical mindset and tenacious problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate is adept at navigating ambiguity, asking the right questions, interpreting data, and delivering accurate financial predictions.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain and improve all accounting and financial processes that support the Company’s overall business objectives.
  • Reliably manage our accounts payable and accounts receivable while also supporting other accounting tasks
  • Drive monthly reporting efforts, like investor quarterly reports or financial budget forecasts, to build storylines and custom analyses that support our critical engagements.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the Company’s financial processes.
  • Provide strong accounting, finance, and business analytical skills to independently drive financial and operational excellence
  • Build trusted relationships with department heads, customers, vendors, etc. with a service-oriented mindset.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or similar fields
  • 3-6 years of experience in finance / accounting, with a focus on financial operations
  • Exemplary history of financial project management and strong data visualization skills
  • You have a passion for developing strong financial workflows and policies
  • You genuinely enjoy dissecting problems and diligently searching for errors with a fine-tooth comb
  • You have an appetite for automation and create a smoother, error-free workflow to optimize the financial engine
  • Experience working in early-stage startups is a plus
  • Located in the United States; preferably in San Francisco Bay Area

 

Salary Range: $86,000 - $125,000 Annually + Benefits + Equity (if applicable) + Bonus (if applicable)
