A Day in the Life
The AppLovin Threat Operations and Engineering team is looking for a Network Security Engineer who is driven to work on some of the most challenging security problems in the industry. You will use your skills to help secure products running on large and complex technology stacks. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator and team player, and know how to explain complex security issues with simple terms. The candidate will have a strong background in network security (VPN, WAF, firewalls, etc), data loss prevention tools, SIEM and log management, and cloud security.
The Impact You’ll Make
- Protect endpoints using the Zscaler suite of tools, including Zscaler Internet Access, Zscaler Private Access, and Zscaler Data Loss Prevention.
- Protect and secure cloud infrastructure by configuring and managing web application firewalls.
- Manage and tune data loss prevention tools to ensure sensitive data does not leave the AppLovin network.
- Configure and tune Google SecOps SIEM, and provide support for rule creation as well as log ingestion and parsing.
- Meet with internal stakeholders to discover new systems before they are deployed
- Automate manual tasks using scripts or other automation tools.
Basic Qualifications

- 2-4 years of applicable experience.
- Associates degree focusing in Information Security, Information Technology, Cloud Security, or similar.
- Familiar with Linux, MacOS, and Windows operating systems.
- Working knowledge of at least one scripting language is highly desired.
- Experience supporting and implementing Zscaler tools.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly desired.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant security industry certifications, such as Security+, GIAC GSEC, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
- Familiarity with CrowdStrike EDR management and configuration.
- Experience with Incident Response methodologies and tools.
