Description

The Strategist is responsible for partnering with Sales to achieve regional revenue goals, leading the Deal Response stage of the sales cycle to close opportunities. This entails working cross-functionally across GumGum’s Growth Team to prepare recommendations that address the client’s needs and objectives and position GumGum to partner effectively with the client on each potential campaign. 

Success in this position requires the ability to understand client needs, craft solutions that match needs to GumGum’s offerings, project manage, storytell, and prioritize competing response demands.  This role will operate in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. 

Measures of success for this role include RFP Win Rate, Closed Deal Value (i.e., value of won RFPs), Average Deal Size, and quality of partnership (to Sales).

This is a contract/temporary (40 hours weekly) position with an estimated duration to Jan 2025, with the potential for extension based on business needs and performance.

Note: This position offers the opportunity for remote work or 'work from home' as there isn't a nearby office. However, GumGum is excited to only consider applicants residing in the local area listed in the job description for business needs including some or all of the following: client interaction, team interaction, timezone, etc.

What You'll Achieve

  • Deal Response Leadership
    • Lead the creation of responses for all Deal Response stage opportunities.
    • Drive cross-functional alignment on proposals, including preparation, facilitation, and follow-up on solution discussions.
    • Prepare timely and high-quality response deliverables.
    • Contribute to client follow-up efforts, such as insights for check-in emails or participation in response feedback calls.
  • Response Deliverable Creation (Deliverable Quality)
    • Prepare concise response deliverables that clearly communicate client needs and proposed solutions, differentiating GumGum to media buyers.
    • Reflect GumGum’s value proposition and offerings in all deliverables.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to propose feasible and superior solutions.
    • Utilize team resources efficiently in response creation.
    • Apply a data-driven approach to storytelling, leveraging tools like Looker, Quantcast, and Comscore.
  • Client Strategy Team Effectiveness
    • Contribute to resources enhancing response creation efficiency.
    • Independently prioritize workload, seeking manager assistance when needed.
    • Work on quarterly strategic initiatives to improve Client Strategy team effectiveness.
    • Participate in the Buddy System to promote team-building and growth.

Skills You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in media buying, sales, customer success, or marketing.
  • Strong proposal development, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience with storytelling using qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Google Slides, and research tools (Comscore, Quantcast, Looker).
  • Understanding of online advertising and media agency decision-making.
  • Self-starter with a strategic mindset and collaborative approach.

What We Offer

Typically in a full-time role, employees are paid at this range ($62,000 $76,000) annually, plus any eligible commission,  however this role will be paid hourly as a temp/contractor.
