Impact You’ll Own:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements with our partners, clients, and vendors, who range from government agencies, universities, and multinational corporations to emerging startups, nonprofits, and more
  • Be a resource and point of contact within our legal team to assist with a variety of commercial needs, while working integrally within the broader legal and compliance teams to ensure that the assistance provided is thorough, consistent, and in line with Planet’s strategies and values
  • Refine our current documents and forms, develop templates to address new relationships and complex partnerships, and streamline the day-to-day commercial processes to increase efficiency as Planet continues to grow
  • Perform legal analysis, complete complex legal assignments independently, respond promptly to legal requests from clients and legal colleagues, and summarize/communicate legal concepts and potential courses of action that can be taken
  • Serve as a primary point of contact to Planet’s Sales team, to draft contracts and enable faster contract workflows
  • Structure, draft, and discuss commercial transactions, and intellectual property licenses/agreements on a daily basis, ensuring agreements comply with company policy and risk tolerance
  • Advise on legal/commercial issues and options across all business/company functions
  • Ensure agreements comply with company policy and risk tolerance and support the continued improvement/scale of standard form agreements, legal process, agreement processes, and company policies
  • Understand and stay up to date on local and international laws and regulations related to Planet’s products and services

What You Bring:

  • Qualified attorney licensed to practice law in at least one EU country
  • Fluency in English required, additional languages are a plus
  • 2-4 years of experience working in-house and/or in a law firm
  • Experience working with sales teams and addressing the legal needs of the IT sector, particularly with (data) licensing, Platform as a Service contracts and associated IP matters, is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • An exceptional understanding of a variety of commercial agreements, including hands-on experience in reviewing, negotiating, and drafting
  • International experience required
  • Experience working with government or public agencies in a commercial setting is a plus
